1/8" plywood

Where can I find 1/8" plywood for the interior ceiling and the roof? The box stores around here don't have the stuff. What about using 1/8" wall paneling?

I found the plywood that I used at the local plywood shop downtown. 1/8th inch luan did the trick for me. It was a bit cheaper getting it from the source instead of home depot etc.

Try the real lumber yards and ask if they can order it. Or find a cabinet shop and see if they can get it for you.

Yep, box stores don't usually sell 1/8" anything. Use regular wall paneling and turn it around if you want the real wood look. Inspect carefully, sometimes the back sides are pretty crappy. If you have to bend it around a radius, I suggest wetting it down a might with a sprayer, wait 15 minutes and then shove your guts out. The first one I did cracked so bad and gave me a hernia so I wet down the second one and it snuck right in there.

I've check with a couple of regular lumber yards,no luck yet. Thought about the back side of wall paneling,but was wondering how it would hold up.

Wall paneling IS Luan - one side has the finish and the backside is bare wood.

I redid my interior with Luan door skins,they come in 3X7' sheets and bend easily. cost around $6 each. Aaron

Not all 1/8" wall paneling is luan-backed ... especially the stuff at the big-box outfits. If it doesn't have real plywood (luan) backing, stay far away from it ... unless you're using it for patterns ...!

They have 1/8" stuff that actually rolls into a TUBE for shipping.

I used their 1/4", which had to be shipped flat, but it was more rigid. Still, NO problem on any of the bends.

You see, for my order, they ran out of the 1/8" I asked for, so they absorbed these monster shipping charges and shipped me 1/4" instead, flat and sandwiched between two pieces of FLAKEBOARD that I was also able to use for my build.

I used the same 1/4 for ceiling and roof.

Do a search on Google or Yahoo-I think they have a website. They are in the heart of Amish country and the place is huge!! They even opened a restaraunt recently for both customers and the employees. You gotta see it to believe it.

Two thumbs up for Keim.

I made a trip there for some of the wood needed and also had a great lunch at one of the local Amish resturants. It was well worth the drive from Cleveland to Charm for the day.
