Progress...slow but sure

While the thumb injury has definitely slowed me, it hasn't stopped me. I'm making progress. I'd hoped to have the tear "usable" for our annual Fourth of July camping trip, but it doesn't look like I'm going to make that. Oh well, another trip in a tent won't kill me. I'm still shooting to be done by end of Summer. We'll see.

In the meantime, I've got the walls up and insulated. I've got the front window opening framed and am building my own window for it. I've got the ceiling vent/fan opening framed and have been notified that the vent/fan unit has shipped. Today I also received the left and right porch lights. I plan to install those today.

Add that to a trip to the Big Box stores to get lumber to begin the cabin and galley cabinets, and a trip to the local hardwoods store to get some 1/8" oak and maybe some nice bubinga or purpleheart to add some accents.

Onward Ho!!!

I truly appreciate all the feedback from y'all. Some days it's just plain tedious, and some days I'm excited to be working on it. I sure hope to finish it with only the best materials and only my own inspiration (along with the ideas from y'all here).

Add in 90% perspiration (and a little blood sacrifice) and it'll be done just like I want it!

Madjack - you hit that right on the head, the last 10% is brutal. I thought at times that it would be easier if I just hitched the whole mess up and took it to the recyle yard.

typically, the last 10 percent is what the contractor calls a "punch list".

Little things that you want perfect.
Or better than they are as they stand, anyway.
Tedious bits of finish work, lots of 'em.
