Dear friends..

Sort of stuck here... What could I use for the wall (top) under the hatch..Cant seem to find anything that has a U shaped that will bend..

Can anyone tell me what else could be used there? :thinking:

Heikki, Some people use a heavy paint there. I used Fast Edge self stick vinyl banding in black, used in the cabinet industry. You could also just band it with plam.

What do you mean by just band it with plam?

I think we have the vinyl banding if I remember correctly...

plam = plastic laminate or formica.

Heikki, I know that y'all have a problem finding aluminum extrusions over there but around here, you can find 3/4 Al channel in most hardware and box store...it is what we used on the edges of the galley wall and around the door...it will havvta be annealed to get it to bend properly.............

A silly question as it may seem but do you think I can use the normal corner moulding that we have for the edges on the wall / roof?

I have extra... :thinking:

I just dont care to leave it bare... but I do have a few coats of Marine Varnish on it so the water and such dont seep in... :thinking:

I,ll keep looking for some other aluminum too..

I also found a U Shaped Rubber Seal for that area but havent purchased yet...It fits over the top nice and tight but ... Its only been an idea so far..

Then it would seal up the hatch even better Id think... but then Im no expert at this...Yikes... :thinking:

Heikki, I used several coats of epoxy but might add something later if the hatch decides to behave. :thumbsup:

That is what I used. It was called plywood or shelve edge.

Well...No Epoxy but several coats of the Marine Varnish...I,ll find somthing more suitable... eventually..

Madjack or Danny or...

I just came back from a German Builders ( Bauhaus) center and I picked up 20mm wide U Moulding and its 1mm in thickness.. seems it bends real easily..

Do you think this will work?

It looks real nice and its anodized and coated with a silver of some sort
It looks good but has no holes for screws in it.. so Im thinking if I use a Sika Sealant or some type glue I dont even need screws...

What do you think?

...if it fits, it oughtta work...I would still drill a few screw holes init...even with the SikaFlex(which SikaFlex are you using)
