I hope all my goof ups help keep other folks not do the same thing.

After you stain it and wiped of any excess, on the dark area scrub it lightly with some 0000 steel wool, that should help you to blend it so it does not show. The steel wool acts like sandpaper but easier to contol for this purpose.

Yep... That's why I suggested masking off the whole board, sanding and restaining it. Blending can be done, but it's not woth the hassle.

I have the perfect solution...........Paint it. Or if that isn't an option, heavy sanding might remove all of the tadpole designs, then sand lightly, and prepare the raw finish with a sealer designed for soft woods prior to staining. This sealer is designed to allow the softer parts of the wood grain to accept the stain at the same rate as the harder sections. Just my 2.............ugh, where is my "Cents key", I guess I'll use the $.02 option.

Sorry, I forgot to repost pics of the fix...so, Its fixed...and camping.

Sanding the whole piece and re-staining did the trick.

I used wood conditioner on the the first door I did, and it was awful. The wood did not want to take the stain. SO I did the rest of the stain without conditioner, and It turned out good.

Thanks for you help folks.
