You'll go to shut the door, and it'll hit on the jamb, and after your initial "D'OH!" you'll realize you have to take everything apart, take the door off, and trim a little bit off before re-assembling it, trying to move the screws over 1/16".

On the prototype, the door has sealed fine, sitting out in the driveway four years now.

Hey Kevin!

Hope the Granny flat is coming along well.

When you specify 1/4", is that the amount removed from the door cutout?

Did you remove 1/4" from around the entire door or just the hinge side... I suspect all the way around but I figure no harm in asking.

Is the measurement the door opening - 1/4" and or the door cutout - 1/4"? I suspect door opening.

Thanks again for great plans...

Kindest Regards,
Tony

Door Fit

Tony:

You trim out the door opening on the body with aluminum angle, and then put your plywood up to the opening and trace the exact opening size. Then take a compass and sribe 1/4" all the way around. Cut off the excess to this line, and that's your door size.
