Has anyone ever used ice & water sheild under alm skin I've heard of some using rubber roofing under alm

While it is is an excellent product, ( I used it extensively under the lexan roof) I don't think there is a soul alive that can put it down without a wrinkle or pucker. As thin as the aluminun skin it it will telegraph to the surface. If you want a water shield product use duramate or a house wrap it will prevent permiation while allowing the aluminum to breath and float with the expansion and contraction. Just my opinion

why not just fiberglass under the aluminum skin? at least with that you can come up with a finish as smooth as a wooden kayak!
The quality is remembered long after the price is forgotten, so build your teardrop with the best materials...

Carpenter-

Why use anything under the Alum. skin?

Everything you add will add weight, aren't you trying to stay under 1,000lbs. for a 5' x 10'?
