For those of you that have used a plastic hinge, what type of screw did you use?

Silicon Bronze #8 X 1 1/4" wood screws on 6" or so centers. I put an oak strip on top of the hinge, counter sunk the holes and put wood plugs in the holes. What kind of screws are you going to use?

Thanks Steve, I have not bought any screws yet but my hinge came in today so I need to make a trip to the hardware store.
