How many coats of marine spars do you usually apply? I have 4 on now and if looks really good but was planning on applying 2 more.

Ive used 3 coats and it looked real nice but Id say its a matter of preference..

Three coats is adequte for canoes and kayaks, but the more the merrier. Here is the trade off...more coats means more work, more weight, more cost...but the thicker coating gives you better protection from rock dings. and sunlight.
