Best way to attach insulation to the floor

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Hey

When you do put the foam insulation in, do you go back and seal the foam with anything? Seems like stones and such would tear the foam up after a couple of years. thanks

Why hasn't anyone found a dead bigfoot? When was the last time you found a dead deer, bear, coyote, fox, squirrel, etc. that died in the woods.........Hmmm.

The blue "Styrofoam" that I used has a very tough, clear plastic membrane covering both sides. It's been in place for nearly 2yrs & thousands of miles, both freeway & really rough backroads/trails; lots of gravel/dirt roads with potholes, tree limbs, rocks, etc. As far as I can tell there's been no damage whatever to the insulation during our travels. I did 'crunch' a tail light lens on my tow vehicle from backing into the tongue box while changing pump lanes at a gas station last summer, but that's another story

I always get things bass ackward and I had no intention
to insulate the floor until I encountered these little
wheel humps.

I removed the 3/4 osb caps and cut and fit 2 layers
of 3/4 blue foam to plane out even with the 1 1/2 " 2x2's
that ring the steel HF fenders that I left in place. I was
then able to put down a 7/16 osb floor over the foam.
As an added bonus this raises the sleeping area 2"
higher than the galley floor so any spills or water
accidents can not seep under the galley wall and
soak the bedding.

PLAN ! We don't need no stinking plan
