Anyone used corrigated tin ??

I've seen the rustic camper with the rusted corragated tin. Thats not the look I'm going for. I think it could be put on very neatly and painted and look good. I worked at a sheetmetal shop out of High School (Many years back ). I used to solder watertight seams with lead solder. I think I can do this with the corragater tin and make it look good. Any Thoughts??

I guess if it gets dinged and rusts you will be right with the intentional Rat look The getting dinged would be my first worry. You can always lay one sheet over the other to keep out the water.

Also don't do much soldering so how will that hold up to bouncing on the road?

I think that, no matter how well you finish it, it will still have a bit of "barn" look to it.

And I agree with Mike that any dings are going to rust if you are vigilant to touch them up right away.

Tin is also heavier than aluminum, so you may just be adding unnecessary weight.

I think I would only use tin if I wanted that old, ratty look. Somebody on the forum did on like that, and I love it.
