At least all the thousands of sheets and units I have sold during my 20 years in the lumber industry, unless they have changed glues in the five years since I retired. I toured several plywood mills as part of my job and I was surprised that they all used the same glue on interior and exterior grade plywood, including decorative paneling and some OSB and particle board.
The marine grade plywoods I sold, which included Doug fir, luan, mahogany and several types of sign board and pressured treated plywood all used waterproof glues, some with urethane.
Again, I dont want to come across as argumentative, But I have had to confirm these glues to my customers on many occasions, I have even had to put the customer on the phone with the mill on many occasions because they wouldn't believe me. Aaron

Hi airspeed,

No argument heard, none intended ;-)

That's good information. I'm wondering now if we have differences in plywood due to geography? Reason I'm asking is, I've been up here in the pacific northwet for about 25 years, I was in the SF area for 25+ before that, worked in the building trades and have been punishing lumber on my own....anyways, around here, I've not even seen interior plywood for sale, and I've never seen exterior plywood delaminate even when left outside in the rain for years. In all the chats I've had with various sources, I've never heard that the glues in exterior plywood were anything but waterproof, and have not heard from the boatbuilding people that marine ply has different glue...different layout and glueup, for sure, but not the glue.

Almost all of the plywood I buy is regionally produced, we have doug fir cores, with doug fir, alder, walnut faces all done locally. All the glues are exterior and again I've not seen any delamination. I never buy wood from big box stores. So maybe we have regional variances? I dunno...

Anyway, thanks again!
