Pull Latch Source

Postby Stephen Gaskins » Tue Oct 04, 2005 5:43 pm

I too have been lurking for awhile and this is my first post. I have gotten alot of ideas from all of you so my thanks are in order.
I am trying to locate the pull latches (with padlock hole) that I have seen on many of your galley lids. Any ideas where to get them?
Thanks Again , Stephen Gaskins

Welcome to the forum Stephen,

Are you talking about the kind of latches that look like a garage door latch, or the kind that looks like the door handle on a typical teardrop?

This can be found at Grant Whipps place, the Teardrop fix it shop, or even TJ trailers.

Stephen-

You may want to check out the links above and then go to "Sources of Supply".

Lots of good vendors for all sorts of Teardrop related things (including door hardware).

Cheers,

Coop

Madjack,

You're right about their catalogue. I ordered one and spent a couple hours looking through it. You can really get some great ideas from some of their products. Best of all it's free.

Hello Stephen,

Welcome to the forum. At first I thought it was Stephen Gaskin, the hippy guru from the 60's. A really great guy, by the way. Has anyone mistaken you for him before?

Were you possibly refering to Padlockable Adjustable Draw Latches for your galley lid? If so, www.mcmaster.com is one of many places to look. Great on line catalog, it is good for finding out the names of some of the unique hardware that is available. I would not know what elevator bolts looked like if it wasn't for Mcmaster. But who really cares about elevator bolts anyway?

Thanks for all the help. Steve Cox had the winning source , that's exactly what I was looking for. Before he replied I did check Austin Hardware and they did come close and yor right, they do have alot of great stuff so I took your advice and ordered thier catalog.
I am building a Cubby and am almost done (finally). I have ordered all of my corner trim, door latches and windows from Teardrop Fix-it Shop and have found them very helpful as well as quick to ship the things parts.

By the way Steve... I'm not quite as old as Stephen Gaskin but a couple of years ago I had a beard and was given a picture of him when he was younger. My Wife and I had to agree that it was pretty darn close. I do live in "California" and come from a farming family. But the crops we're not quite the type he is famous for.

Thanks again to all who replied, you make this new hoby alot more fun.
