Roof Coating

Postby Southern1212 » Mon Oct 26, 2009 2:23 pm

Has any one used Siliconized Elastomeric Roof Coatingon the top of their TD??

We are building our own TD and are about to the point of putting the roof on . . . was just wondering which would be the best way to go: Exterior Paint or this Roof Coating.

I know the guy at Lowes said a lot of folks buy this to seal their camper roofs.

THANKS,
Susan

I personally would stay away from exterior paint. And the product you mention is best for metal, tile or BUR roofing. I don't know if you can use it on wood.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

I used Siliconized Elastomeric Roof Coating on the gypsy trailer. I tented it with an oil based blue tent. The roof is made of 1/4" plywood with 3+ coats of CPES. Worked out well, durable, gets dirty fairly easily, but easy to clean.
