Application of Mahogany Veneer for Interior Walls - Pics

Thought Id show some of the new folks here how I applied Mahogany Veneer to the interior of our tear.

1. Selection and sorting of Mahogany Veneer.

2. Run ply through the glue machine.



Lay veneer on fresh glued ply





Slide the ready ply into the Heat Press with paper cevered over the Mahogany to prevent overheating and burning.



And after 5 minutes under the press slide back out and the side is done and form sides to the profile of your choice and then your ready for marine varnish. The grains and color are very nice.



This is the exciting part as the grain and color starts to stand out.

Hello and greetings from Scandinavia. That shop is owned by friends of the family who run a Caravan Business. When its slow season there I get a chance to use a corner of the shop for my tear work.

It is a huge place with a lot of space with basically all tools and tables including vacuum table and setup. I sure wish it was my own though. However it is only just a wish and a dream. But the folks there are real nice to let us use it whenever its possible.

My personal shop is under the Arctic Skies throughout the year.

Its nice to work inside in a warm place as this above though.

No not Ikea.. But a Caravan service and sales center.
But in that respect your very right sire, its a Finntastic place to work on a tear.

I intend to do the same again on a future tear interior however with different wood.

Aluminum or fiberglass (alufibre) can be heat pressed on the exterior as well with this. That is planned into the future.
