Those of you with woodies -- what kind of wood did you use?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

whatever wood you use, find some satin or semi gloss finish..

I used 3" cedar strips. But I love that Sapele Plywood :thumbsup: :thumbsup: Image

is that wood between the planks or some sort of caulking.. we do a similar thing with teak planking and black sikaflex.. it looks cool and keeps the gaps closed to water while allowing the wood to expand and contract..

I am a woodworker, and had some thick,(1/8") Walnut veneer sitting around the shop, had used most of my supply on folding tables for family get togethers. When I was deciding on the woody, went with that on the bottom and Baltic Birch up top, laminated it to a sheet of 1/8" Luan, then CPES, 5 coats of Spar afterwards.

It is caulking. Just regular Dap 50 year. I tried the best It didn't work. Funny how that is sometimes - Wayne :thinking:

I simply love the looks of that woodie everytime I see it. Do you remember the radius of the top edge?

Juneaudave- I can't think of it off hand. I would guess to say about a gallon can. 4" in 4" down. - Wayne :thinking:
