Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

1/8 inch ply

Go to a hardwood store if possible. I priced out 1/8 inch ply at a store in Reno, NV. They had oak, birch and luan in stock. All for $15.00 or less for 4x8 sheets.

About 2 hours south of you is a store called Alpine Plywood on the south end of Milwaukee. they have everything you need. Give them a call and see if they have another store near you or a recommendation. This store has 1/8" ply's, 4x10"s 5x10's but you have to call ahead to see what is in stock.

Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but Alpine didn't seem too interested in helping a guy that only wanted a few sheets. I put them on my "do not call list" but again maybe someone was just "having a case of the Mondays".

Wow, I'm sure that I am not on their Christmas list but I usually have good phone conversations on what they do and don't have in stock. Sorry to hear that.

Your post say's Interior that is hard to bend inward I tried to use the 5.2 mil laun from lowes I had a steamer and a sprayer I did manage to get it in to place, but there was so much resistance inward it started to bend spars so I had to cut some of it out and patch with masonite Not pretty
have had to paint the interior to sort of hide the uglies :(

My stores

Postby gregp136 » Wed Mar 10, 2010 9:53 am

I have gotten my various wood from two different places here in the Milwaukee area. Both have been helpful and have gotten what I need.

Bliffert's Lumber, various locations throughout the Milwaukee area.

Kettle Moraine Hardwoods, in Hartford WI.

I got 1/8 in hard maple plywood there for my interior, and they were very helpful.
