new trailer or lenghtening the old one

Postby luluyug » Mon Nov 28, 2005 11:13 pm

salut les boys, i have a small problem. i have a 2 year old 4x4 snowbear trailer. should i by a 4x8 one or have this one welded up to 6 feet(td without galley) or 4x8 would be worth doing. the cost is one important factor in the decission. the snowbear is all welded and i find it an adventage of having 8 inches wheels because my tow vehicule is only 60 inches in height. (still not too bad for a frenchy guy)

Not too bad for a frency guy. Taking the budget in consideration, must be tight, you are even conserving capital letters when you type  . You didn't mention the overall length of the Tear Drop you were planning to build, just a desire to have either a 6 foot or an 8 foot trailer frame and no galley. So if your overall length was say 7 feet and a width of 4 feet you could build on your existing 4X4 trailer and frame out with wood 18" or so on both ends of the steel trailer frame. No one has ever said that you have to have steel framing extend out to the very end of the Teardrop. That would be most economical. Just my thoughts on the matter.
