Paint removal from Aluminum - Best way?

Hey folks, Im curious whats the best way to get
old paint off aluminum. Its partially flaking off but some is a little harder to get off and would like to save the aluminum as its not dented.

whats the best or proper way to do so?

Chemical strippers are the best way. Look for the one that will not discolor the aluminum. It will loosen up the paint to a point where you can wipe it off with little effort or scratching

Like mentioned...the chemical type strippers work great, I've had good success with Jasco. It's real caustic stuff so take care with eye protection and rubber gloves. In Finland however, you are going to have to find out what's available. Citristrip works, but isn't as aggressive, however it is more environmentally friendly. Doug

cheapest way is elbow grease and steel wool ... but that's not necessarily fastest. It is, however, least polluting (you do need a tarp to catch debris).
