Bruce,

Thanks for the link to AT, very informative axel info. They also have a nice TD but out of my price range.

Best Regards,

Ken

Oh wow. I bookmarked that awhile ago and didn't notice they had a teardrop. Expensive little spud isn't it...

Yeah, I am a Torflex fan myself, but for offroad, I would go for abuse rated simplicity. Madjack has the correct answer IMO. If you go for Torflex, the 22.5 down is the norm "setting" not offroad so he seems more like a salesman to me. Personally I would want steel leaf springs, not rubber taking the abuse for this particular application, and remember I prefer the Torflex axles, but it all depends on the application.

I am going to agree with the 3500lb axle and 1500lb spring combo. Here is another thing to think about... Leaf springs are cheap and plentiful and most average size cities have a trailer parts store where you can source parts. If you break a leaf off road (virtually unheard of but it has happened) you can use branches and ratchet straps to get back to civilization vs a torsion axle breakage which will leave you stranded more times than not. Just my two cents :)
