Another hatch idea

Postby Forrest747 » Fri Jun 04, 2010 9:41 pm

Charley isnt ready enough to take her down to the boat canvas shop to figure out a soft rear hatch. thinking last night about where all the camping gear is going to go and such and the new water pump issue, got me thinking about a camping table.

So i brought it up at family dinner tonight and the Hamster said dad why not make the back door come off and turn that into a table. the idea has merit i think i will have to design it out.

Call me crazy...... (I am still trying to figure out how to make a tongue box look like straw bales in front of my barn trailer )

What if you were to install a plastic 5 gallon gerry can on each side that was hinged at the bottom to flip down. You could even cut the side out of one to hold a couple small plastic tubs to hold wash and rinse water for KP cleanup. They are light and cheap and a small flat board tossed on top could make for a larger "Table" Mount 1 high for counter height when down and the other low for a standard height table for family dinner and perhaps board games later.

I carry a 2x4' plastic table from sam's... I don't like the idea of removing the hatch... rain comes to mind...

some things that sound good at first thought become complex in reality. and at night, you have to put the hatch back on, or at least I would...

just my take on things.
