Tray or table for stove desired

Postby Classic Finn » Tue Jul 06, 2010 11:59 am

Hey folks, Ive just sanded down the platform from Birch Ply. And want to make a tray or table that is pulled out from under the counter in the galley. This would hold our stove.

Have you folks built such? If so can I kindly ask for some pics of yours?

Should would appreciate it.

Are there sides on it? A front plate maybe?

Here is how I did mine. I made a base out of 1/8" ply and covered it with some leftover white Formica. I made the sides out of 1x2 red oak. I routed a groove in the sides for the base to slide into. I used biscuits and glue to hold it together. I then mounted it on full extension slides. I screwed a drawer front onto it and put on a handle. I think it works very well and it's hidden out of the way when not in use.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

Greetings Mark

Wow now that is swweeeeeet as candy. Great looking too, such is your entire tear.. :applause: :applause: Thats about what I had in mind.
Ive got 1/4 inch ply (aprox) is that too heavy do you think?

The only thing we dont have the depth so we,ll have to do with it being length wise under that galley top.

Mark how long are the extension rails that you have?

Thank You Mark for taking the time to reply to this.

Hey haven't done one myself but did see one in a gather in AL that was different. Someone had modify a Silver Shadow with a swing out top. It was shaped like a small ironing board and was attached to the counter with a 2 piece swivel like on swiveling bar stools. It might be an option so just wanted to mention it.

Hey Finn was browsing ebay looking at the tears and ran across one that has a table that folds out and has one leg. Thought it was interesting and you might like:
