Mouldings Made from Rubber - Any Use ?- Photos

We found some Mouldings made of rubber so I thought to ask if these would or could be used for anything ...

These are samples I brought home today...I dont have a catalog of anything so I thought to ask you...Hmm slowly but surely Im finding these
parts....Whew

...OK - Both are about the same which slide over the edge of the Aluminum and can be tapped lightly to make it lock better. Its like a "V.
" then the 1st is about the same except it has a rounded part with a soft lip like portion..also hollow inside...this is quite flexible and the portion that is over the aluminum on both sides can just be squeezed together lightly with some kind of pliers or hit with rubber hammer to lock in..the other photo has no lip at all...

This place had all kinds of rubber mouldings but just didnt have time to
stay longer..

Any ideas??? Doors ?, Windows ?

PS - Mike at Lassen Tear has somthing to that sort of moulding going on the edge of his wall but how he has installed it - No idea..Or does it have a lip on it ?

Heikki, we are using something similar(first photo) for our door seal from trimlok.com

p.s. we are also using something similar to the second photo around the edges of the AC case, where we modified it...

I spoke with Mike at Lassen Tear in California once and he said he uses
somthing like that for his but can really tell if its for the doors or edges of the wall? It doesnt look as if its the normal edge moulding but then again
it could maybe be used for the door???

Take a look: On his trailer door Itself I know exactly where to find that for sure and what it looks like....But the rest.. Hmmm

Hey, I haven't forgot about your edge trim either. It got put in an envelope yesterday and will be taken to the post office soon, one for Kimmo too. Been verrrry busy lately and just now getting to the pile on my desk.

Don't bet on it - we used to buy US-made carbon yacht masts and to get spare stainless bolts in US threads, we had to ship them from the US - but they were all made in Italy!!

Comes from Sweden and made in China or GULP You never know.... as are so many other products...

I work in the rubber industry, this looks just like the same mouldings you would use on your car, look very closely at your car, this looks like a primary seal around your doors or on your liftgate on the back. It is a steel or aluminum carrier with rubber molded around it, this is a dense rubber, the bulb is a sponge rubber, this is all done through an extrusion process. There is a ton of variations of that configuration.

things..

I have no idea what the manufacturer's name is. Of course that is part of the problem, I am at the mercy of our suppliers here in the states.

That rubber profile is meant to just shove onto the edge of a piece of metal and provide a seal for a door or something. A bulb seal is the normal description.

Your body edge samples went out today in the mail.
