Custom swing-up tongue jack mount plans for free.

Postby cracker39 » Sun Oct 24, 2010 10:46 am

I’ve seen a few posts about tongue jacks (fixed vs swing-up, placement, centering on tongue, etc.). Below is a photo and a diagram of the Squidget’s tongue jack. I took a standard, cheap, swing-up jack from Harbor Freight and converted it to a center mounted swing-up jack. The angle in the photo can be changed to up to horizontal if you mount it further back or on top of the tongue. My trailer plans include diagrams, photos (about a dozen or so) and written instruction to construct this jack mount. If you’re building a chassis soon, or want to modify one you already have, to use this system, email me and I’ll give you the information needed to build it (free). I haven’t yet put these files together, but will do so if anyone is interested in having them. I’ll put them on my Skydrive and anyone with a Skydrive ID and password (which is free) can request download permissions from me.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

I have seen yours before Dale great job. I had made my own swing jack like that a few years ago at work on a drum crusher that crushes 55 gallon drums.

Nice Job!

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...
