Frame advice

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Getting the trailer tomorrow! Can't wait to either have an awesome teardrop, or fail miserably due to a total lack of competence.

By the way, I'm going to put trailer brakes on it so it will be well under the rated capacity of 2700 lbs for my Outback. So don't go reporting me to the Mounties, or any other state agency for that matter!

As far as it being too big for a classic teardrop design, all I can say is the price is right, compared to the 5x8 from redtrailers.com for $599 plus 155 shipping. Those savings are going to pay for half of this trailer. I'm too cheap to think about this any other way.

So hopefully I can come back here for advice throughout the build, especially with electrical questions. When that time comes, I am going to need major help...like how does electricity work? :?

I guess I'm too late. But, seeing that you in KC, there is a Harbor Freight store on Shawnee Mission Parkway. If you decide against the popup, you could get a frame there with no shipping. Otherwise, you should check it out for cheap tools to wear out on your build.

I did visit that Harbor Freight this week to check out their trailers. I decided to go with the 72 Starcraft frame, however I did notice the abundance of cheap power tools at HF that I'm sure would serve our purposes of the build. We're still in demo mode though, so not even sure what tools we need yet.
