Is that another way of saying you didn't read his post complete. That you missed the third sentence. I don't see where he edited anything. Maybe I'm not reading it complete.

Have a good day.

We bought some more goodies to go on our tear today. I was like a kid in a candy store. We ordered our aluminum today (we get to pick it up next Wednesday morning) YESSSSSS!!! and picked up our door latches. Also bought several supplies while we were out. We will pick up the 1/8 inch Baltic Birch in the morning for the underside of the hatch. Got a little more done this afternoon, we cut and added the ribs to go from the hatch to the deck. Got it sealed good with aluminum and good silicone on the inside and will seal the outside edge with marine goop. I am as happy as a hog eatin slop. :D
I started out with nothing and I still got plenty left.

Hi Jim,
I am impressed by your door frames. Are you building doors or are they a manufactured product? Thanks for any info.

Jerome :)

Jerome, thanks buddy. The door frames are part of the frames that we bought from an auto salvage yard. Our doors are actually side windows from a wrecked conversion van and the windows are in great shape. You can pick them up for around $35 each here.

The first picture below is with the aluminum frame shown with the window. One word of caution, if you decide to go this route, be sure to pick windows that are not convexed. Ours have a 1/4 inch bow which have caused us a little challenge, but we worked that out and it will not be noticeable. Hinging is a little different from regular doors as well as the latch, but the outcome will be worth the trouble. We really do like ours. If we can be any help to you at all just let us know.

David, we are getting our aluminum at Diversified Sign Supplies on Dodds Ave here in Chattanooga. We got our aluminum for $276.10 and that included the tax. We got 2 sheets of 4X8 and 2 sheets of 5X8, and can't wait till Wednesday to pick it up. They were really nice folks and are very helpful. If you want I can give you their phone number.
