Extended drawer slide trick

Postby pawp » Thu Aug 18, 2011 7:58 pm

Some of you may have figured this out before me, but it was an ah ha moment for me. My lower galley depth is 15" so I am using an accuride 14" full extension drawer slide. This full extension depth will not allow the cooler lid to raise fully when the cooler slide is out because of the drawers above. So I discovered I could weld two slides together giving me a full 28" extension. I don't need it all but it sure convienent for cooler loading and cleanout. This is a simple and easy fix for a space problem. :D

Very clever.:applause:

You just have to remember to make your drawer 2" narrower than the opening. I'm sure you know there are plastic gizmos in the glides, so the welds have to be done with the glides extended . I'll store that idea away in the memory bank.
