Applying CPES before or after walls are up?

That stuff looks like a powder coated finish! I'm gonna try and find a distributor near by and possibly ditch the FRP that I had planned for my roofing and just paint the whole thing with this stuff!

I just did my Epoxy sealer. On my next tear all the wood gets sealed BEFORE it is assembled.

I sealed my wood with CPES before I started assembly. No reason, other than I figured that if any moisture managed to find its way into any joints that it would be protected.

(that is because it is taking me FOREVER to get this thing together. I figure I would protect it DURING the build )

Try to keep in mind the type of glue (or epoxy) you'll be using for the final assembly if you do decide to seal with CPES before assembly as many adhesives rely on being absorbed 'into' the wood pores in order to have proper adhesion. Many epoxy's also need to be absorbed as well. You can find more info about this particular issue of wood/adhesive construction on many of the wood boat forums. In general I always glue first and then seal as a secondary step but everybody has their own procedure based upon their unique experiences.

Agreed. I should have said "sub assemblies". My frame work is done, so I sealed it. The hatch is done, so I sealed it. etc.

The little bit of gluing here and there in the rest of the build is in conjunction with other fasteners.

I'm going to continue on with the build and apply the CPES after I get the 1/8" roof skin in place and then apply a good coat to the walls and a heavy coat to the corner joint where the roof skin and side wall meet. I figure the end grain along the top of the side walls will get sealed pretty good with a heavy bead of poly construction adhesive, then covered again when I paint the sides, and again when I lay the final roof skin and corner molding down.
