I have had great results from the hammered copper spray paint from rustoleum (I think). Price is low and would look GREAT!

I'm still debateing roofing lol. Now I did the purlens I think 16" on center, and the roof is 1x6x3/4" pine tongue and groove, and I am planning on useing cetol on the inside of the vardo to the purlens and the t&g pine, should look nice. Now I am a bit concerned if I screw through the corrugated roofing, through the black ice dam material and miss a purlin and mess up the roof. What if I used the 3/4" sized screws with the little special washers and put a lot of them in....think that would hold the roof on?

Thanks!

follow the manuf. instructions on the roofing, it doesn't take that much to hold the roofing on, you will have to retighten the screws each year or so due to heating cooling cycles. I have to tighten my steel roof screws on my house every so often. also I would only put the screws in on the ridges of the metal, one manuf said to only do that the other only wanted them on the flat parts and that one is the one that leaks when the screws are loose.

You know, Ive heard the same thing, and the manuf recomends screwing through the low section. Did you use the ice dam material?

Well I called the manuf of the roof, and Im thinking its a no-go. I dont want to sacrifice the wainscot look of the inside of my roof since I want to use cetol a marine varnish/poly over it all, I want to see nice wood inside the lil vardo.

Plan 2- Grey liquid EPDM. I think Steve used the white on his Gypsy Vardo. I figure grey will be cooler then black, and look better then the white.

Thanks guys, maybe the next build lol.

no I didn't use ice dam sheeting, that is what the roof is for IMO.

I ended up doing the painted canvas finish and love it, steel roofing is prone to dents and I plan on putting boats, and possibly bikes, on my TD roof and walls. I also wanted to have the channels going front to back and couldn't figure out how that would work.
