Please see attached picture and help answer questions

I’m building my second teardrop, and wanted to know if anyone remembers where I could get another, or what this latch cam is called. It’s been a few years since I’ve built a Tear and my memory must be failing. This latch was idiot proof, and worked well. I’m just having a hard time finding another.

I’ve scoured Austin hardware to no avail. Google produces nothing either. Someone here referred me to this a few years ago. Your help is appreciated.

Can't tell from the pic... does it lock?

Not the lock. Just the cam. It's rather large and resembles a teardrop. Here is a pic of a run of the mill cam latch. On a side note the internal handle was locking too. This was an additional feature, but again i'm only looking for the cam.

I know you said you can't remember where you got it originally. Do you remember if it came with the L-Handle set or was it something you bought by itself?

I can't tell from the pic... does it have a slight twist to it or is it just bent?

If it has a slight twist to it then you might check with some place that deals with pneumatic tube systems. You know, like the ones they have at the drive through at the bank?

We use one at work to send various things from one end of the factory to the other. The cam has a slight twist to it to help the door get a little better seal.

Beyond that, no clue where you'd get that specific part without knowing where it came from to begin with.

This may sound dumb but if you are only looking for that bracket part. it sure looks like part of the lock mechanism for a slide door like they use on glass cases in stores. Some have jagged teeth for a slide lock but I am sure that could be ground off.

It looks like the closet/cabinet door backside lever that was on my previous trailer. The front had a nice T handle, and was used on the larger doors for a closet, and large cabinet door. The detail is not visible, but you can see the size of the closet, and cabinet door under the bed. The lever just slipped over the square bolt with a screw to retain the angle.

Is this not the part you are looking for with this handle? You may have to bite the bullet and order the entire lock set.

Good Morning Gang -
I think waylonh is prepared to buy the entire latch system, but he is looking for the exact size, shape, etc. as the one pictured in his first image. The 'latch' mech needs to have that 'teardrop' shape, not the standard rectangle shape we commonly see.

What kind of trailer is that one on? Maybe start there?
