I used good 1/8" (actually 3mm) Russian birch plywood. It took some effort, but I was able to apply it to a 6" radius at the lower front of our teardrop and a 10" radius at the hatch without needing to wet the plywood or pre-bend it.

(In the above picture, I had applied some epoxy fairing mix to the seam between sheets of plywood. At this point I had not sanded the excess fairing mix.)

The plywood was plenty strong by itself, but after the aluminum skin was installed it easily can take my 200+ pound weight crawling around on the roof.
