A picture from yesterday. I'm always afraid the big trucks and motorhomes won't see us...

Very cool little camper Stacie. Nicely built too!
I am in the process of building one similar in size to pull behind my trike for my daughter and I to take a graduation trip on next year. She looked through your build and now wants one for herself.

Thanks matman1972,

Not sure how tall she is but I have 8" of "extra" space for my cabin interior length (I'm 5'2" and the interior dimension is 5'10") which seems to be just enough to be perfectly comfortable with such a minimal footprint. Please feel free to ask any questions about the design or build. Would love to see pictures of hers when it's done!

A few updates. The Glampette and I had a very busy fall. To date we've traveled 13,331 miles  Lots more pictures and full recaps in each post.

Attending the Camp-Inn Camp-Outt Rally in Mauston, WI with Alaska Teardrop and his Northern Lite Traveler http://theflirtyguide.blogspot.com/2013/11/the-camp-inn-camp-outt-tiny-trailer.html

After the rally Fred and I camped along Michigan's UP (blog post to come) before heading back to Greenville where he built me a countertop and shelves for The Glampette's interior. I LOVE my new countertop: http://theflirtyguide.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-glampettes-new-countertop-and.html

The Glampette and I attended our second Rally at the end of October on Treasure Island in San Francisco. The Teardrop Meet & Greet: http://theflirtyguide.blogspot.com/2013/10/nine-teardrops-and-tiny-travel-trailer.html

Next project, I'm designing a small slide out that will double as a lap tray in the cabin, and a slid out that goes out the window for cooking and boiling water.

You have taken to The Glampette like a duck to water. It is very nice to see that you are getting everything you wanted from her, and so much more!

Way to make it happen.

Thanks KCStudly! The funny thing is I thought I wanted her to do overnight trips around the Bay Area. But first I took a three week, then a two week, followed by a four week trip before finally doing an overnighter down in Santa Cruz County just last weekend. Now perfecting my cooking techniques on my tiny propane stove, hence the want/need for the tiny window slide out so I can cook outside while I'm still inside the trailer. You hit it spot on, I've definitely taken to the tiny trailer lifestyle like a duck to water. Good thing since I had no idea if I'd like it or not.

Hey, Stacie: Over 13,000 miles is definitely a lot of camping and traveling; probably more than most campers travel in several years! As far as a window slide-out, I wouldn't want to sacrifice the bug-fighting screen in any of my windows. That said, perhaps you could find one of those old metal car-hop trays that would fit on your window. Or, perhaps you could add a removable table on the side of your trailer, not too far from your entry. Either one of those would be seemingly easy to do....

Thanks Sharon!

I did think of the car hop trays, only problem is they tend to be much wider than my window opens up to. Plus I'm a little concerned the hook on the outside could damage the skin of the trailer so it would need to be protected somehow. The thing is I'm already making a box for the interior lap tray. The same box placed on the counter top and turned around could double as the slide out. The bugs definitely could be a problem in certain areas but it'll be a nice extra option to have since it doesn't require anything additional beyond something that will already be in the trailer. Storing an additional table top to add to the side of the trailer is just going to take more space to store than what I have room for. I already have a small folding table I bring that I keep in the car trunk. But sometimes if I'm somewhere where that would be too conspicuously "camping" (when I just want to boil a pot of water under three minutes) the tiny slide out would be a good stealth option because of its small size.
