No offense meant but I've heard that for years too. I also know what the cost of materials are and what is involved to clear a tear. That's why I learned to paint 30 years ago. That's how most guys price themselves out of the business.
For a street rod or high end car that's gonna get hours of sanding and polishing those kind of prices are expected. For a simple sand and shoot I'd call it high.
But that's just my opinion, of course your location can have a lot to do with it too.
