I've got 6 feet. Anybody need to purchase 6 feet of 3" plastic hinge?

Sounds like you have the problem solved...

Yeah, I could use your leftover hinge 6ft. hinge.

I gotta get some of that stuff.

PS: I wouldn't use it for door hinges though. Me thinks stainless piano hinge just looks/works a lot better.

I gave about $43 for it make me an offer. I'm still tossing around ideas for other uses for it I'll definitely keep you in mind because where I was thinking I hadn't really planed on plastic, and once I have my mind on something it's pretty hard to change it. Like the smooth look I'm going for.

I've decided not to use it for the doors the thought of plastic on the vertical doors just makes me to uncomfortable. I'm sure I'm going stainless piano hinge on the door.
Thanks, Scott

Rick... Here is how I have done it before with just normal peel-n-stick insulation. Never had any leak problems so far... ;)

The doors will be built like the door on the front of my house. With the molding strike strip all the way around the door. The hinges will go on the flat edge. I'm very confident it will be sealed well. My front door doesn't leak. I'm not following the T molding thing there is no T molding on My house door. My door will be about 1 1/2" thick with a real door knob.

Plan to go with the peal and stick seal like brick mentioned.

Scott... As long as you have something like a door stop (like your front door) for the door to seal to, I don't see any reason it shouldn't work? I just used aluminum angle cause I was fixing an old TTT door and it didn't have any door stop.

Thanks, I've found some fake wood trim at homedepot that is very flexible and will bend the entire curve of the door. Should work good for the door stop.

Still tossing up between the hurricane hinge or the plastic hinge

This is from another thread, I agree with Jim.

Jiminsav wrote:Brick, take my word for it..buy the hurricane hinge from Grant and slap it on there..it's well worth the cost..my first one I did with a piano hinge and inner tube cover and it always leaked.
I'm a cheap bastard too, but some things require money to make your life easier.

Well after much thought :? and stubbornness I reorderd my hinge today. The same kind. And if McMaster Carr lives up to my past orders I'll have it tomorrow. And this time there will be NO unnecessary cuts. I'm sure it will be leakproof and I like the way the one works I have now. Other than the extra gap.
