I still have (5) 17" wheels from a '34 ford I haven't unloaded yet. A while back I offered them for $200 + shipping. That offer is still good but I'd like to get rid of them all. Maybe someone else on this forum is interested in taking 2 or 3. These wheels are in good shape with some minor surface rust. I'll try to get some pictures up next week.

Ford wire wheels

Postby Bob Olszewski » Wed Feb 07, 2007 8:24 am

Finally got the picks of my 17" Ford wire wheels. Take a look!

I said before It's $40/wheel + shipping for all 5 wheels, be it someone takes 2 wheels and another takes 3. But if 2 of you folks only want 2 wheels each, the price will be $50/wheel + shipping. I need to get back what I put into them. I'll keep the fifth wheel as a spare for my build.

Hi Heikki,
These are what a 1934 Ford wire wheel take. If you buy the wheels you could ask for the measurement where the hup cap goes just to be sure.

RW Johnson sells some:
http://www.teardroptrailers.net/parts/wheels/wheels.htm

This is the company, C&G Early Ford Parts, where I bought them from and bought the tail lights as well. They are in the San Diego area and their business is replicas of old Ford parts.
http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort
If you look in my album, you can see the parts I bought. There are a variety of choices based on 3 designs: plain center, Ford and V8 as the 1932- 1935 should be all the same size.
This picture is from a catalog page from C&G early Ford parts, so you can see the variety of choices and decide which you like best. The plain ones aren't shown in the picture but you can see them at the RW Johnson site.

Heikki... If you haveing trouble finding hubs with the right spacing you can probably redrill some five lug hub flanges to match your wheels... They do have to have wide enough flanges to work with the wide Ford spacing though. I have redrilled hubs before a couple times. I just set up a jig for my drill press so I could spin the hub around and get accurate spacing from the center. Then I drilled the new holes in between the old holes. There was plenty of metal so I doubt this weakened the hubs enough to matter. Of course you then have to install new stud bolts, but that is easy.

Hi Heikki,
It takes a 5x5 1/2 bolt pattern. I would think they would still be availble. I don't know enough how axles fit onto hubs. But below were different vehicles that used a 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern.
5 on 5-1/2 (139.7 mm)
AMC - Jeep (5 bolt) '42-'89
Chrysler - 8 cyl. & wagon '46-'55
- Imperial '54-'66
Ford 2 ton van
Ford Bronco, F100
Ford - all '28-'48
- full size P.U., van, Bronco '49-'89
International Scout, Travelall
Lincoln - all '52-'60
Mercury - all '39-'51
Suzuki - Samurai '86-'89

C&G Early Ford Parts sells hubs front or rear for 1940 -1948 Fords, don't ask me the difference between front or rear or what the difference would have been between 1932-1935 hubs and those hubs as they should all be the same bolt pattern. They also sell wire wheel adapters, for bolting 28-35 wire wheels to 40-48 brake drums. :? :? :?
Someone who knows about these things would have to answer that.
