The whole notion of sitting in the doorway is overblown. I never sit in the doorway - in part, because I'm 6'3" and would hit my head on the top of the opening. I wouldn't worry too much about this lower sill issue, especially if'n your'n a big'un.

I sure didn't have an issue with my door opening, I kinda like it!! I don't sit in the doorway anyhow, kinda looks like an ape looking for a bananna................. :lol:

Sitting in the doorway doesn't mean actually sitting there chatting away. Unless you literally jump out, you will sit there at least for a few seconds.
