Thanks everyone for your very kind comments. That's the spirit and caring that makes a project like this all worthwhile. I'll admit, I wanted to tow it to the scrap dealer many times but, you kept me going and I appreciate it very much. Hope to see many of you at the ITG. I'll get it hooked up to my truck and post a couple more pix so you can see what the total package will look like.

SJ, very nice. And you did it fast too. Obviously no one told you about tear drop time.

Great job! Be prepared for lots of attention wherever you take it. Even when just stopping for gas, people will ask about it.

Actually Ira, I took my truck down to the hitch shop and told them I wanted a hitch installed under the front bumper. I'm going to push this thing to Minden just to scare the 18 wheelers.
I did a "test drag" on it today and couldn't figure out what that tiny aluminum thing was that was following me - oh yeah, now I remember - can't tell it's there. Stopped at my local RV store to get a 2 buck part and got "jumped". Guy wanted to know if I built models???? Huh, no but I dated a few.... I think he was under the influence of crazy and asked a ton of questions. "My wife and I just sold our 5th wheeler and we were -blah, blah, blah".... Yeah right, so you're gonna jump out of a Klingon War Cruiser and into a TD?
Actually I think some folks on the highway suffered broken necks from swiveling around to look at that aluminum thing pushing my truck. It was fun, looking forward to the ITG and don't need any excuses to drink beer.
Thanks for the kind comments - yeah, you too Ira!!!

This is what scared the hell out of ME the first time:

Towing with an 8-foot bed Silverado, didn't feel ANYTHING back there, and I expected to take a look and just see a hug pile of toothpicks being dragged down the road.

I doubt I would even feel a flat TIRE back there.

Yes, Loader - many Leinies and I've started already - breakfast of champions. I'm bringin' Leinies to the ITG and I ain't gonna share neither!!

Ira, It's not a stinkin' Silverado, that's a genuine GMC Sierra with a 320 HP aluminum 'Vette motor. I could pull a building with that thing and not know it's there.
