Anyone know how to roll your own? OOPS! Did I say that?

You can roll your own (fenders) with an English Wheel. You can find them on ebay under Metalworking Equipment but they are not cheap. But they hold their resale value so you could probably "rent" one.

Those look exactly like the style used on CampInn standard models. They prefer them due to the lack if paint failure vs all the chipping on the metal fenders.

I personally bought a pair of galvinized steel fenders from Northern Tools. I will probably powder coat them to match the aluminum skin.

From the above posted site:

Designed for 8'' or 12'' normal profile tires. 7 3/4''W x 5''H x 21''L.

Carefull, those fenders are for small tires/wheels only. they won't work on anything bigger than 12" wheels.

SteveH - I'm using 12 wheels and they were a bit small for what I needed. I ordered these tonight instead:

what i'm thinking of doing is getting a old galvinized wash tub and cutting it in half and using that for fenders..now thats cheap

well SteveH, first of all, 55 gals drum isn't as big around as my tires, and they rust...ewww..washtubs are galvinized..

I guess you have to choose your own poison. Steel will rust, granted, but it can be cleaned, brushed and painted. Galvanized won't rust, except where you cut it, but paint won't stick to it very well. :thinking:
