sidepods, saddlebags or whatchm'callit's

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Mike,

I like the idea. However I think that would make it to high for my corolla to comfortably tow. Also, the sleeping area is wide enough to put a double bed between the arches.

I'm also wondering about a couple of thinner storage areas under the floor, near the axle. Just in case I need extra storage after a while.

I do like your idea. As I don't like the visual impact shown in the photos. It's UGLY. Curves plainly more work, but as mentioned earlier, they could be finished later. Although I'd create their floor at the same time as the interior, to reduce the potential for leaks etc.

After thinking about it for a while.

I think that making the side pods the same shape, but smaller than the TD would look great. Almost like having ( building? ) 3 TD's :D

Thinking vintage look

I also had a thought about some extra side storage. What I was imagining was something similar to those old station wagons of the 30's and 40's with all the fancy luggage made to strap on the running boards. I tried to find a picture, but couldn't come up with anything. Maybe somebody knows what I'm talking about?
