Solar panel mounting

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

I like the movable panel like e-miller. I thought about fixed mounting to the trailer but decided against it but the brackets will be on the trailer and connector for electrical. That way I can expand or use what amount of solar panels I wish. ;)

Efficiency drops with higher temperature so I think that's why you never see concentrators on commercial type PV arrays. I think you get more bang for your buck just tilting the panel.

There have been lots of serious designs for PV arrays with concentrators... but yes, heat management is critical. Since concentration normally implied relatively precise aiming, I agree that simple tiliting is likely a more optimal solution in a small scale application... and simply mounting flat might be the most practical of all.

My one and only panel has no mount yet. If I were permanently mounting, I think it would just put it flat on the roof. A portable stand - or removable mount on the trailer - would be aimable.
