Sliding compound miter saw or standard chop saw?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

...in our shop we have 20' table built along one wall with a radial arm saw mounted in it and a compound miter(removable) saw. the radial gets used for cross-cutting almost everything(more accurate and easier to index to) and the miter saw gets used for...well miters. A sliding compund is great but you have to keep a close check on it, as it is a little trickier to set-up and maintain its accuracy

I have a 15" miter (chop box) saw and because of it's size I can cut alot bigger crown and base then the 12" chop box. To me if it will cut the size material you need including crown the miter is simpler to use. I can also cut a 6x6 fast and clean, you can't do that with the typical compound or slider.
