I also used the white stuff from HD, doubled it up when I needed it thicker, and on the curves.

Well, I ended up using the white stuff and adding some supports to make up for not being able a structural sandwich like i wanted to.

Thank you all for giving your opinion and making me more comfortable in changing my plans.
