I agree. Electronics in the cooking area is not a good idea in my opinion. Speakers yes.

I remember the words of a retiring actor, "I speak only when it will improve on the silence". One of my favorite times is to sit on the shore of Lake Superior with a good book, However, having the radio/CD player in a noisy camp site to soften the barking dogs, screaming kids, blaring country western/hard rock... is wonderful. We do not inflict our music (classical) on others there are speakers only in the tear.
