You really need a table saw!

Or at least one of these:

My question would be why you would need 2x4's for the floor. I used 1x2's for mine, sandwiched between 3/8" plywood..... Plenty strong. I think you are just adding extra weight.......unless your hauling around an elephant.....

We used a radial arm saw but it could be done with other such tools.

Hope this helped a little.

If you are making a sandwich, you should be able to use 3/4" framing and 1/4" on both sides and it will be plenty strong. Put ridgid insulation in the empty spaces as tight as you can get it.

mainly only because the selection of 1x material around here sucks...2x is sooo much easier to get , and actually more affordable...

im not building a small tear, so i think id prefer a stronger setup...maybe its not needed...

im not moving forward at all right now...stuck in a rut, seriously contemplating a tear-down/redesign/startover.....plus, it rains every damn day...

i just stumbled across tons of free steel....so, another project has moved to the front burner...lol

those lapjoints look awesome...i dont have the patience to do that...
mike breaux...its pronounced "bro".....
i think i should have taken notes along the way, because ive forgotten waaaay more than i remember...
