Screwless

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

I have used the Miller Dowel system in the construction of the cabinet face frames and doors. Also used the beadlock loose tenon system, Other than the hinges and locks no metal in them. I know what you mean by the drill bit being aggressive. It really likes to suck itself into the work the last little bit. I applaud your idea of using as few screws as possible. And i don't see a problem with using the dowels. As they are glued in they won't unscrew by themselves. I also made the counter top for mine with a hunk of oak on the front that is held on only by the rabbit joint, miller dowels and epoxy. Then when i used the round over router bit to make it a bull nose i didn't have to worry about hitting a screw.

Lou, Yes it is a Mormon thing. ;)

I am glad that some of you have some experiance with miller dowels. I wanted to make sure I wasnt making a huge mistake. I am gluing each one in with Titebond III and my roof will be epoxied down as well. Thanks for the advice guys, I appreciate it.
There is nothing that I can build that I cannot unbuild. <or> Mistakes will be made, action will be taken.

Miller dowels, Miller dowels, never heard of them. However, I have an open mind and will explore the pros and cons. Thanks for the post.
