Take a look at the Igloo Coolers website. They will give some guidance on sizing. HTH

Gerdo wrote:Try Dry Ice. I used 7lbs for a 3 day trip and when I got home there was only a small peice left. You need to keep it in an air tight bag to make it last the longest. Also put a peice of cardboard between iye ice and your supplies. Works great and your food doesn't get all wet.

I thought that freezes stuff.

If the Dry Ice comes in direct contact things then they will freeze solid. But if you keep a layer of cardboard between the ice and your supplies you will have cold, dry supplies.

Give it a try.

For a more finished look, you may want to try a built in...

Check out (from the links): http://www.formcoinc.com/ice.html

We used one of their boxes in the Ctear, has a drain tube (that drains out the bottom thru the floor) Works & looks great!

Cheers,

Coop

My daughter gave me a 12v/110/v electric refer, and it works great. I didn't want to build it into my tear, since I place it on the table when at campsite. What is nice about it is that I keep it in the back seat while on an extended trip, (like Shasta) and it cools the inside 40 degrees cooler than the outside temps. That means that if the inside of the car is 70, the cooler will freeze ice on the bacon and milk bottles.

I am very happy with it, and will never plug it in incorrectly again. I checked on the temps of my cold drinks while in the desert and the inside of the unit was 110 degrees. Whew. That's what happens when I put the red battery connection on the negative post. No cooling, just heating. But I am learning.

We use two 52 quart coolers for a long weekend.
