When I called to see about the thicker door version (details in my build thread here - url]http://www.tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=48630&start=495#p951464[/url]) the lady said the were not available in right and left hand versions.

I ordered them, but am now having second thoughts about the aesthetics. Did I get the same model as you guys, or did I mess up?

My latch is not a Trimark but yes one is mounted "upside down".

The only difference in the inside is that the deadbolt latch is on the bottom on one side and on the top on the other. On the outside, the deadbolt lock is on the bottom on one side and on the top on the other.

But you won't even notice it and neither will anyone else.

I have one "upside down" too. As Mark said, I don't notice the reverse orientation. I do notice having two different keys. I should have had the locks keyed alike.

Thanks guys. I guess I will stick with the ones I ordered.

There will be enough other little nits for me to worry about than having them not be opp hand. Planovet is right, it won't make a big difference.

Yeah, Aggie, I sure hope she comes through on her promise to select a pair with the same key code. :worship:

I already have separate keys for my draw bar locking pin and coupler lock (plus one for the coupler lock on the boat trailer), and the galley hatch will have at least one more key (unless I go with combination locks there...might use the pair of Ruger padlocks that came with my Vaqueros). With all these keys we're like the stereotypical high school custodian jingling along as we walk.

That's like most every other 'boo boo' you make during construction. You know (& remember) every place you screwed up but most folks looking at your work will never see it unless you point it out. It's become automatic with wife & I to reach for the proper location of the dead bolt latches. She has her side, I have mine & never even hafta think about where it is unless for some reason I'm alone on a trip & need to do something from her side. I've pointed out the upside down handles to visitors & they were amazed they hadn't noticed.
