An idea I haven't yet seen here... screen either attached with magnets or velcro or whatever (even permanent) but with a zipper like a tent door screen.

I just saw something similar at a tour of artists studios. They had a large screen, weighted on the bottom, with zippers on either side to keep the flies out of a garage used as an art studio. My biggest mind block is that the door to my teardrop is not square nor does it have a linear top, so I'm still not sure how to attach something that needs a curvy attachment. Not too well said but I think you get my drift.

The zipper can follow the shape of the door so shape shouldn't matter.

Love that door with screen. One comment on the website said you couldn't open the window with the screen door but in my mind that's a small price to pay.

I'm in the same boat as you with only using full door screens every now and them.

I didn't want to make anything permanent so what I did was I went to a fabric store and for a few bucks bought a heavier grade Lace (couldn't find the material they used for Tent Screens), Cut it the size of the door (Plus a bit), taped the edges neatly with a colored Duct Tape and used Velcro to hold them up.

When not using them, which is 99% of the time I folded them up and stored them in a cabinet.

No there not Screens, but they worked.

Happy Trails

Heres what I did. U can see the screen door standing up behind the storage box. It fits snug in the doorway when its opened up. I just put it in from in or outside of the camper. It stores under the matress when not in use and works great. No hinges or velcro to worry about, easy in, easy out. Sorry, no pics of it in action.

I made my wiley windows as large as I could, I also made them low in the door.

with the glass removed the bottom of the window is just about even with me lying on the mattress. Only one night of camping with the window has been warm enough to need the glass out, but when I did I had a nice flow of air flowing right in and across me. I don't have a roof vent or fan, but do have vents at the top of the wall

and a tall window. If I need more air than that I have the air conditioner. I have also thought of adding another vent window at the top of the door, but haven't yet.
Using the wiley window I have a screen door and a door in one, less is more.

Stephanie, You could do ParTaxer solution in a horizontal configuration With the top cut to the door shape.
It could be low cost to do. Replace the shade on a roller shade with screen, some weather striping and keyhole slot to hold the screen shut. It should fill all your requirements as in fitting the door and easy to operate. A big plus is if your dog crashes thru the screen you can easily replace the whole thing(with low cost spare?)

Here are screen doors on vintage sandy or stand up trailers
120408 120407 120406
120405 120404 Most trailer have a hinge that will allow them to rest or snap on the inside of the door and when needed click a latch and they swing over the doorway
120403 On this one the door opens in the center and the screen airs out the place
120402 This one slides into the walls

there are so many ways you can do a screen. as you can see most have a slider so you can get at the latch on the door.
113850 most of these could not be done is you have a "Wiley Window" in this case a screen would need to be as a drape would.

Just came back from the Pismo Vintage trailer show.

with the glass removed the my wiley window becomes a screen door. in a taller door two wiley windows would do even more to open things up.

You are right... with the glazing lifted out of a Wiley window it offers a lot of ventilation. I simply fitted mesh to the outside of my windows... those and an open hatch, also screened, allow plenty of airflow.

Thanks all that answers my question  I looked at my idea of a pull down screen and the wiley window would get in the way so now it will become the screen door too  ;)
