Well Doug
You are right on all counts. But to do this a person would have to take the axle off and turn the trailer over cause the ground is too tall. I was going to do it that way but Mike got it first. He actually had to pull not push and used a straight bar cause it was longer. Really not something I could do.

I did wonder if a hammer wouldn't knock the bolt in then just screw the nut on. They were too expensive to play with so I let it go. 8)

Thanks for the advice.

Well the van is wired and the cheapy clearance lights are now really grounded. See in my efforts to not have rust I drilled all holes, primed all holes 2 times, and enamelled all holes 2 times. The cheapy clearance lights ground through the screw, which I intentionally got slightly small. NO metal to metal on either one. :duh:

Thank you Paul for the sage advice. I will try to not be anal about rust in the future.

Hi Miriam, Here's a tip for your next build  With my lights I've taken the earth back to an earth block so that all lights/lamps earth out at one point. If I have an earth problem, such as yours, all I need to do is go to one point to check. Now if the wire comes away at the lamp :? :?

And there is nothing anal in worrying about rust.

Cheers
Paul
