Hell, as many Texas builders there are on this forum, maybe "trailer rustling" is the new age crime!! Probably still get hanged, if caught.

Why my trailer is chained

Postby Bob Pierce » Sat Jun 17, 2006 8:36 pm

I have a friend that brought two brand new trailers home. The next morning he had no trailers. It's just a little extra insurance to help keep honest people honest. :worship:

Trailers with wheels are an easy item to steal. Some tough son-of-a-b@tch stole a 100 pound concrete pig from a neighborhood yard here.

Just to continue the hijack, there is a town in Britain that is pretty famous for having some concrete cows - they are only about half full size and kids love climbing on them:

Image

Not only was the calf (called 'Millie', in case you needed to know....) stolen soon after the cows were installed, but its replacement was taken and held for ransom! No-one seems to know if the council (local government) paid up, but the calf was returned.

In case this is such a moving tale that you need to visit these cows, or know what they look at all day, the BBC have provided a 360deg viewer: Milton Keynes concrete cows.

Since this thread has already been hijacked.....

My home town of Ocala Florida is the heart of horse country in the state. They have a dozen or so life sized sculptures of horses scattered around town, some in residential areas. These are life sized, but the colors are varied, wild and far out. Sort of pop art I guess. I couldn't find any pictures on the town web sites.

Hey, we got the same thing here is Bismarck. It's the painted pony project. Artist paint the horses and later they will be auctioned off for charities.

There is a place right on Interstate 35 that sells precast concrete lawn ornaments. They have several large items like a full sized rhino and hippo. They also have what looks like an 8ft tall rooster.

Hi-Jack is over

Postby Bob Pierce » Mon Jul 03, 2006 1:51 pm

OK, I've been gone for the past two weeks and 3,500 miles. Now I'm back and getting ready to put sides on my trailer, so no more hi-jackings.

Just to let you know, it's pelicans here in Pensacola.

I guess we just don't pay attention or follow instructions very well.

Venice fl. has concrete pigs up and down their main street. One has chrome header exhaust coming out both sides. They are all painted pretty wild.
