Hey, Steve. In this picture, I noticed the wall sticking up in the hatch seal area. Did/are you cutting this out or is it part of the design?

Jeff have you seen how Steve does his hatch seal? Really slick, I was gonna steal it but I had a design change that prevented me from doing so.

That should keep the water out!

Yeah! What they said!! ;) ;)

What I do is assemble the galley wall. I use the full profile of the rear section to cut this part with a router. After it's in place, I use a bushing/bit in my router to produce the seal lip shown in the illustration shown above.
The off-cut is used, as a pattern, to produce the spacer (3/4") on the hatch side.
Clear as mud??
Here is the process, from my website! Hatch seal
Kind of involved, but as Bledsoe said, keeps water out, and looks neat for a woodie!

Well, 2-5gallon pails of cheap spring clamps, 12, 12" bar clamps, 6, 36" bar clamps, 6, 24" bar clamps, 8, 3/4" pipe set-ups that I can make any length I need and about 30 c-clamps of various sizes.
 Probably not! ;)

 That's it, I'm calling an Intervention!!!

Steve, that is a great idea!! Man, you've got this thing down pat. My next TTT will have prebuilt walls before they go up. I'm starting to get comfortable with a router now so that should save a bunch of time sanding with a belt sander.

A successful Intervention

Good work Mary, picking up on the color coordination.

Steve, Steve, Steve, I thought you promised the group you were not going to buy any more green clamps. Now don't try to excuse your behavior by telling us they were in sale, or worse yet, "Your wife liked the color". We share your addiction.
Regards,

Guy

heh, heh, heh. I like those hi-viz green clamps.
someplace, i've still got a short remnant of the pink neon drop cord I bought when I was doing Habitat. (it got sawed in about six pieces ... never leave a coiled drop cord upwind).

(lemme tellya, pink neon shows up on a construction site!)
